What Documents Are Required for IRP?
Your state's IRP forms, 3 proofs of residency, title or title receipt for each vehicle being registered, bill of sale for each vehicle being registered, 2290, insurance and lease agreement (if applicable). Since states set their own requirements, your specific requirements may vary from this list.
If you engage our services to complete your IRP registration, we fill out the IRP forms and give you a list of required supporting documentation and submittal instructions. You will need to submit the paperwork to your state for them to start processing. Most states take about 1-2 weeks to process the paperwork once it has been received. Please note that your state may reject your IRP registration if your authority is not already active. If that is not the case in your state, you will want to apply for IRP no more than two weeks prior to the expected activation date and only if insurance is on file with the FMCSA.
Once your IRP is approved, your state will invoice you for the cost of your plates. You will either pay those fees online or in person at the IRP office.
